This week we will continue with our work on Unit 27 in Reading. In Math we start our new unit and in Science we will finish up our unit on organisms talking specifically about life cycles and food chains.
In your child's folder you should have found our field trip permission form for our trip to Bellevue State Park. This is an awesome field trip where we explore the pond ecosystem and actually use nets to capture and observe organisms that live in the pond. We will also have a nature walk around the shore of the pond. We will have a picnic after our activity and some time to play on the parks playground. Feel free to drive to the park and join us on Friday May 13. There is a park entrance fee. Information on the park as well as directions is available at: http://www.destateparks.com/park/bellevue/index.asp
Students must ride the bus to and from the field trip.
If your child will not pack a lunch, you need to fill out the bagged lunch request form and return it with your signed permission slip and $5.00 cash.
Don't forget, Friday starts Spring Break and we have all of the next week off.
When we return, we will only have one more month of 1st grade!
Have a great week,
Dave Ostheimer
